OK, so I'm often one that's behind the times.... That's clear in the clothes I wear, my hair style (or lack there of), my choice shoes, my knowledge of actors and movies, and in many other areas too, I'm sure. So, talk to me about facebook....
In my opinion, it seems like just one more thing to keep up with, and one more thing that pulls for my attention. I already have a hard enough time reading my friends blogs and updating my own blog. But, every time my sister-in-law emails us, she tells us we "have to get on facebook!" So, I'm wondering, what's the big deal? How time consuming is it? Is it really that much better than a blog? Should I do both blog and facebook? What do you do and what would you recommend?

The main thing is that it is the greatest way ever to communicate with people, with different tiers of communication. For example you may befriend those you really consider true life long friends, and have yet another way to keep in touch with them (despite that, if they are that close, they probably communicate with you in several other ways [though your literal position might make that unique]). Yet, you may also befriend those who have been your good friends but you haven't seen in a while, or those that are nominal friends. You might even befriend old high school classmates you haven't seen in years, just to re establish contact. Yet with everyone, though at different levels, the main point is communication.
Its time consuming-ness depends on you. Because you CAN choose to use it beyond its communcative abilites, and use it for all sorts of fun little time wasters. Tests, games, etc. But you don't have to.
It is better than a blog, because many more people are likely to interact with you. For example, I have been a regular reader of this blog for years now it seems, yet I have posted, maybe 3 comments counting this one. Yet with a facebook, I would almost always respond to you.
I would love for you guys to get facebooks (though I don't even know if it was a consideration for Brad to get one too)
I can see one potential disadvantage for you guys in particular. But I won't share that here for now.
